History: Wat Sri Don Chai, this temple was built in the year 1917. Originally, this temple was located in lowlands and consequently floods would often occur during the rainy season every year. As a result, the temple was damaged. The abbot and devotees together moved Sri Don Chai temple to the east bank of Kwong river which is on higher land .
The temple has the largest Buddha image in the north named Buddha Charerm Sirirach The height of 29.5 meters, built by the abbot Sri Don Chai Temple along with Thai people and foreigners who had respect and worship Buddhism. The purpose is to dedicate the charity on the occasion of the Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej after his reign for 50 years. Buddha Charerm Sirirach is the Buddha image that people always worship until today.
